Bring the happy is an ongoing project about happiness.

In autumn 2010 we took over 3 disused shop spaces in Leeds city centre, first in The Light Shopping centre and then In Old Kirkgate Market.

Over a period of two months the project aimed to collate and investigate the happiness of the people of Leeds, mapping their memories to a giant installation and a digital map. Bring the Happy also visited 10 local schools to expore happiness with young people in their schools and local environments.

Happy memories were collected and mapped via the 3 shops, around the streets, by a travelling K6 phonebox, in schools and online.

The shop also hosted performances, exhibitons and happy gatherings over its two month residency. Bring the Happy guest artists were Megan Smith, Ben Halsall, Harriet Rollitt, non zero one, Shellshock, Kings of England and Third Angel.

The project currently exists as a performance in collaboration with Hope and Social and as an installation. The map currently houses well over 1000 memories and the project continues to grow.
